Item Description
1.25” button with very early 1897 W&H shellacked backpaper. Button has head-on view of rider with surrounding text “Archie Le Jeal On A Quaker Wheel/Jacob Roth 1018 State Street. Erie, Pa.” Button has slightest tan tone on the white areas but is o/w Mint except for virtual pinpoint white dot at lower right. Le Jeal went on to become a motorcycle racer and he died July 4, 1915 in Erie County, Pa. at the Corry Driving Park. Rare.
