11x17” softcover with 24 pages of text, photos and art congratulating George McManus on the 20th anniversary of Bringing Up Father, 1912-1932. Includes full page with bw photo of smiling McManus smoking cigar with art image of Maggie scolding Jiggs. Book is full of messages from people in all walks of life including Governor Roosevelt, Rudy Vallee, General Pershing and many others. Includes reprint of first strip in 1912 and examples of dailies and one Sunday from the early 1930s along with other drawings. Most of spine is split, cover has numerous small creases and a few small moisture marks on front and back. Pages have lt. wear with a bit of scattered foxing. Inside spine has archival tape repair. Overall clean and tight. VG. Rare. Nice design. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
