One of our favorite button designs features a cartoon bird wearing fraternal feathered hat, smoking a cigar held in its beak and holding a liquor bottle under one wing. The 1.75” size, with W&H backpaper, shows these features off beautifully including huge black shoes on the bird which balances on a tree limb with a fraternal sword handle by its side. His cartoon balloon reads “I Belong To Ascalon, Where You From?” A small sign attached to the branch reads “You Should belong To Ascalon.” Rim text is “Ascalon Commandary No. 59 Knights Templar Pittsburgh, Pa. 1906.” Tiniest age on the W&H paper. The cello is Exc. and displays Mint. We’ve seen about 6 over 4 decades.
