6.5x8-7/8” mailing envelope has “Captain Midnight” Chicago, Ill. return address at upper left. Trace of lt. surface dust soil, lt. handling creases from mailing. Fine. 6x8.75” manual with 12 pages explains use of decoder, secret signals, password and endorsement for Ovaltine. Manual has lt. rippling/indentation from decoder. VF. Comes with 3.5x6” envelope with text “This Is Important Please Give This To Your Mother Or Father.” Envelope has indentation from decoder. Fine. Envelope contains folded letter which opens to 5.25x6.25”. Addressed “Dear Parent” mentioning “Enclosed Captain Midnight Secret Squadron Membership Badge And Club Booklet” along with heavy promotion of benefits of Ovaltine. Horizontal fold through center as issued. VF. Metal decoder is 2-1/8” tall. Tiny luster off left edge of eagle. 15% tarnish on reverse but front is 95% mint luster. VF. Nice complete grouping.
