Item Description
Three items with mailer. The “Bomber” is a 1942 premium from “Post Toasties” and “Grape-Nuts Flakes.” 4.75x10-7/8” mailer with General Foods, Battle Creek, Mich. return address has lt. dust soil and handling creases. Left side flap has 1.25” tear at upper left seam of front. VG. 1-5/8x7” die-cut thin cardboard “Catapult Bomber” has image of Don Winslow on front saying “Try Post Toasties And Grape-Nut Flakes – They Hit The Spot!” with instruction diagram at left along with rubberband. Comes with 3.25” long die-cut cardboard dart with rubber tip. Catapult is lightly tanned. Rubberband has some aging. Fine/VF. Dart has dust soiling and is flattened, rubber tip is flattened. VG. “Super Book Of Comics” #6 has Don Winslow on the cover. Vertical fold through center as mailed. Book has a few lt. bends as mailed. VF appearance. Comes with 2.25x3.5” glassine envelope containing 19 foreign postage stamps, most of which have been cancelled but o/w Exc. Only the second time we’ve seen this rare “Bomber” premium.
