Item Description
The 1939 standard example is 3” long with text and Tom Mix logo designs on one side of the pearlized grips. Holds a single 2.5” long blade. This blade base reads “Quick Point St. Louis.” Entire piece extremely clean and glossy with minor tarnish mark on blade and tiny 1/16” dot off reverse grip lower edge. VF. The first seen variety is the same except for 2 aspects. First, there is no checkerboard bkg. behind the “TM” brand at center of checkerboard logo. Second, base of blade reads simply “U.S.A.” Blade a bit tarnished , o/w Mint. Unique in our 44+ years experience. Comes with 2.75x6-7/8” envelope with “Ralston Straight Shooters Checkerboard Square St. Louis, Mo.” return address label. Postmark reads “June 1, 1942.” Envelope has lt. handling creases, some lt. dust soil and left side edge has 3/8” tear at seam. VG. Nice group. From the Joe Gura Premium Collection.
