Auction #201 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1408 in auction 201
Item Description
This massive pin is 2-5/8x2-9/16” tall made of brass luster white metal with a large bar pin on the reverse and the name of the maker “Staret.” The design includes in excess of 65 rhinestones, mostly clear but several in ruby red and deep blue including a red stone on the eye of the spread-winged eagle at top also decorated by a rwb enamel paint shield on its breast. The most significant part of the piece other than its size and ornateness is the fact that it is a rebus. At the center are the die-cut letters for the word “Remember” while below this is mounted a large 5/8” dia. simulated pearl with a silvery surface. The slogan is finished by the word “Harbor” curved below. The pearl has a bit of brown discoloration on its bottom lower side but not showing at all when viewed directly from the front. Item retains its essentially Mint appearance. As far as we know, this is indeed the King of the “Remember Pearl Harbor” badges.
