9x10x4.5” deep box contains complete set by Masudaya, Japan. 1950s. Nicely illustrated box is complete with cardboard inserts as well as illustrated jungle bkg. scene. Box lid well worn with 3 corner splits. Additional wear/aging to box and insert. VG. Main unit of the toy is 10” tall tin litho gorilla that stands atop tree trunk base. Complete with rubber hands which remain pliable. As issued, has cork-firing gun of western design including raised eagle on grips. Gun fires. Comes with 2 corks which are used to hit circular target on gorilla’s chest and toy is then designed to produce a roaring sound as gorilla raises his arms and eyes light.
