In 1954, Cheerios issued 3 different numbered sets of Disney comics for a total of 24 titles. This lot includes 23 of the 24 issues, missing only Mickey Mouse Arctic Explorers from set #2. Also included are 2 mailing envelopes and 3 cardboard glasses marked “Cheerios 3-D Glasses.” One of the 3 has string added so glasses would stay in place on child’s head. Comics primarily feature Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck with titles including “Pirate Plunder, Apache Gold, Phantom Sheriff, Robot Reporter,” etc. Other characters include Donald’s nephews, Uncle Scrooge, Pluto and Goofy. Envelopes have moderate scattered wear, VG. Glasses VG to Fine. Comics have typical trace of aging, some with trace of edge wear but all are overall still clean and Fine copies. Overstreet value for the lot including glasses in Fine condition = $693.
