Item Description
4-7/8x5-7/8” stiff cardboard mount has slightly smaller paper photo with subtle dot screen mounted at center. Reverse has inked name of apparent original owner. In the photo, King’s companion diving horse Queen can be seen standing in the water at far right. This famous pair of horses traveled primarily on the east coast but even made their way to England where they performed at the Crystal Palace. Photo is from the early 1900s. While we’ve seen a couple of related buttons, this is the first photo we’ve seen. Exc. From the Morry Greener Collection.
