Item Description
10.25” tall painted and glazed ceramic is stamped “Wadeheath England” on underside with lion mark. c. 1930s. Exceptional pitcher with large figural Big Bad Wolf handle design as if he is holding onto the top rim of the pitcher and peering down at the high relief images of the Three Pigs. Pigs are surrounded by trees and flowers with house in bkg. also done in relief design. This variety has green grass added all the way around the bkg. as well as other minor differences from #2306. Wolf’s hat is painted purple instead of brown. Typical and minor craze line only visible upon close inspection. Exc. Interesting variety showing what could occur as these were hand-painted one at a time.
