Item Description
14.75x23” thin artboard has 11.5x12” pencil and India ink image area with 5 panels. Smiling Batman and Robin are greeting pudgy man in plaid suit with polka dot bow tie. Pencil word balloon in panel 1 has Robin saying “Hi Pop.” Sequence was done using the script for “Batman 11” June-July 1942. Art is unsigned but we believe it may have been pencilled by Dick Sprang and inked by Charley Parris. This art is shown in the comprehensive "Batman The Complete History" 1999 Les Daniels book. Board has lt. wear around blank margins with some lt. dust soil and a few moisture marks. Image area will mat and frame to near Exc. appearance. Well drawn. From the Saul Ferris Collection.
