Item Description
1” wide by 9” long hard plastic link bracelet issued as “Betty’s Luminous Gardenia Bracelet” by Wheaties in 1941. Betty Fairfield was Jack’s cousin. The bracelet consists of 5 figural high relief plastic flowers representing gardenias mounted on green leaf segments. The sixth leaf segment has a clip that attaches to a loop on the opposite end. The bracelet is essentially Mint as made and glows brightly in the dark. It even comes with a 1.25x8” cardboard strip finished in black on one side but with green printed text on the other side warning that over-exposure to sunlight will cause the gardenia buds to darken and giving directions for proper exposure to make the buds luminous. Cardboard has crease lines but o/w clean. Among the rarest Jack Armstrong premiums and we’ve seen only 2 or 3 examples. We believe this is the first example we’ve had to include its original mailing box complete with General Mills label. Tiny wear on the box and label but VF.
