18.5x20.75” frame contains smaller 9.5x11.75” frame which contains a sheet of 6x9.5” lined notebook paper that has Bruce Springsteen’s hand-written lyrics for a song called “Vaginal Vandals.” Song has a religious theme, concerning a youth leaving the church and joining a gang called the “Vaginal Vandals.” Partial lyrics read “She Forgot You Quit The Altar Boys Cause You Couldn’t Reach The Candles. They Banned You From The Sacristy So You Went And Joined The Vaginal Vandals. You Broke Into The Church And/Raided The Poor Box Figuring You Qualified. You Skipped School And Never/Changed Your Sox So Mama Would Know Where You Stand.” This theme fits some of Springsteen’s material written c. 1972 and this is most likely from that time period.
