12x17" spiral bound soft cover with 90 slick paper pages with numerous full page poster-like images of acts available for booking by famous agent "George A. Hamid, Inc. 1560 Broadway, New York". Full size grandstand musical shows including one headlined by Rudy Vallee are pictured along with dialect comedians, animal acts, trapeze acts, jugglers, daredevil motorcycle riders in cage, Lucky Teter Hell Drivers, tumbling Arabs, Aunt Jemima and her Three Pancakes, and others, Including a happy family with costumed people resembling the Captain and the Kids, and Kenneth Waite Troupe costume characters including Felix the Cat and Mr. Peanut. George Hamid was born in Lebanon in 1896 and joined his uncle's acrobatic troup in 1907. He moved to the United States in 1908 and was taught how to read and write English by Annie Oakley and given his show business sense by Buffalo Bill. He loved the circus. At an early age he won the Acrobatic World Championship. At 17 he owned his first act and in 1920 he entered the act booking business. He developed the world's largest agency for circus and outdoor talent which specialized in state and county fairs and directed seven county fairs and three state fairs during the period from 1931 through 1941. During this period he purchased the Million Dollar Pier in Atlantic City, NJ. Catalog has scattered general wear, binding is pulled loose at at bottom of spine several inside pgs. are coming loose and inside pgs. have some lt. dust soil and creasing. Back cover has color rubs. Overall Good/VG. Despite problems, catalog is complete w/no clips and has wonderful high quality images.
