2.25x3.5" ticket w/nice photo at lower left of smiling Roy Campanella wearing Dodgers jacket and baseball hat with #39 on sleeve, has text "Los Angeles Dodgers VS. New York Yankees World Champions Thursday Night May 7, 1959 8:00 PM Los Angeles Coliseum I Was There The Night They Honored "Campy"." Ticket cost $1.51 for seat #21 in tunnel 33 row 32. Reverse side is printed rain check w/facsimile signature of Walter O'Malley, president Los Angeles Dodgers Inc. A tribute was held between the 5th and 6th innings of the benefit game for Roy Campanella who had been paralyzed in car accident. A record crowd of 93,103 jammed the L. A. Coliseum and some 15,000-20,000 people without tickets stood outside the Coliseum. The Yankees won the game 6-2. Left side of ticket has a few ballpoint pen notes in 7/8x1.75" area noting scores and crowd count. Ticket otherwise Exc. with bright color.
