Item Description
c. early 1950s. 15.25x18-3/8" illustration board has 11.5x15" India ink and watercolor image area w/sheriff in midair holding stomach w/left hand and gun in right hand w/hat flying off after just being shot by outlaw who was kneeling under hitching post in front of sheriff's office. Art has tiny ink signature near bottom of noted illustrator Fred Ludekens. Blank margins have 1" to 1 1/2" wide areas of surface paper residue from removal of original mat, this would not be visible w/reframing. Image area has trace of lt. dust soil w/a few minor moisture marks at bottom. Overall Fine/VF. Extremely well done.
