Item Description
January 13, 1939. 7x9" glossy showing 57 year old collector in his candy store looking at five dime novels he is holding with more dime novels and promotional poster on wall behind him. Paper caption on back mentions Austin started collecting dime novels about 20 years ago and his collection "Is Considered By Him to be Even Better Than The Congressional Library's Listing of 7,000 Dime Novels". Text in second paragraph mentions how prophetic dime novels were. Photo has lt. rippling with several notes in pencil and blank portions on reverse side. Overall Fine. Interesting item on early collector.
