Item Description
This handmade piece of solid aluminum is 7.5x11.5x.25" thick. Engraved design and text on front "Franklin & Cactus Jack" on donkey head. "Young Democrat 1940" on saddle. "Herbie & Alf" on donkey's hind end referring to Herbert Hoover and Alf Landon both defeated by FDR in previous elections. Reverse reads "F.D.R. Again In 1940" on donkey head. "1932/1936/1940" on saddle. Donkey's hind end and tail read "G.O.P." Made prior to 1940 convention which replaced VP "Cactus Jack" Garner with Henry Wallace. Unique. Mint as made.
