Item Description
Each is 9.25x12 1/8" with 12 pages. Magazine was published weekly by "Telegraph Press" San Francisco. Includes vol.58 #39 for Nov 17, 1962 with text promoting Clay fight against Archie Moore on Nov 15 (see poster for this fight #1351) with nice image of young Ali called “Cassius Lippy Clay”, vol. 59 #10 for March 16, 1963 with text promoting March 13 fight vs. Doug Jones with nice photo of Clay wearing boxing gloves with text below including “The Lip Says Doug Must Fall In 6 But Saying It Doesn’t Necessarily Make It So” (Clay won the fight), and vol. 60 #45 for Nov 21, 1964 promoting world’s heavyweight title fight with Cassius Clay vs. Sonny Liston with full figure photo of Clay at left and Liston at right.  Contents of three issues include other photos of boxers including Archie Moore, Floyd Patterson, Gene Fullmer, Joe Louis, and Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. March 16, 1963 issue has interview with Clay and Jones. Back portion of magazines are devoted to professional wrestling and include photos of Haystack Calhoun, Pepper Gomez, Ray Stevens, Gorilla Monsoon, Cowboy Bob Ellis, and Steve and Gene Stanlee. A few lt. handling creases. Nov 17, 1962 issue has 3/8" tear at bottom edge running through all pages. Problems are minor and overall group is Fine/VF. An early and historic group.
