Item Description
c.1920s for combination airplane and automobile which was also at times called “Road-Runner”. Items relate to inventor and entrepreneur Virgil B. Moore and his Autoplane venture. Group includes 7 1/8x9.25" four page Autoplane sales folder noting the demonstrator now being constructed will sell for $2500. Comes with 8.5x11" stiff paper “Road-Runner” folder with eight pages with illustrations of various proposed models of the Autoplane along with biography on inventor Moore. Also includes 8.25x11" leather binder with photos, diagrams and text including June 19, 1928 patent with copies of letter relating to patent. Final item is 11.25x14 3/8" scrap book loaded with photos, flyers, and various promotional material along with newspaper clippings relating to Moore’s Autoplane invention as well as “Moore’s Parking Service” business he opened in Los Angeles at a later date which involved pick-up and delivery of personal cars by chauffeurs. Scrap book has split along left seam on front and back with wear around edges, group has some wear here and there but overall VG/VF. Historical and incredibly interesting. Unique.
