Item Description
c. 1915. 8.25x14.25x7/8" deep thin cardboard box has nice specialty art by creator Bunny showing smiling Foxy Grandpa holding tree branch as one boy smiles at Bunny smiling back at him from floor and other grandson smiles at Foxy Grandpa. Tree ornaments include one Foxy Grandpa. Box top and bottom end panels have come loose but are present, two corner seams have split and left side edge has seam split. Lid surface has bit of minor wear but overall box is VG and lid image is Fine. Glued in glossy playing surface has nice specialty art signed Bunny showing Foxy Grandpa and the boys going for sleigh ride in snow as Bunny watches at right. Bunny is pseudonym for early comic strip artist Carl Schultze. Lower right of image area has maker's logo, small art image of two bees in circle with text New York/Chicago/St. Louis. Surface has lt. dust soil but overall Fine appearance. Spinner has some aging and surface wear with lt. wear at corner tips. VG. Comes with four wood playing pieces. No instructions but appears complete. First we've seen of this game in our 45 years. Nice graphics.
