Item Description
Each is 7.25x9.5" hardcover with 318 pages published by Whitman. “The Adventure of Dick Tracy” title is #4055 ©1934. Front cover has large image of Tracy with inset images of Junior and Tracy talking to the Chief. Back cover has art of Tracy on phone as Pat and Chief listen in. Front cover color is a bit faded, top back of spine has 4.25" split. Covers have some lt. dust soil with a few color rubs around edges. VG. Contents are aged and lightly but evenly tanned. Fine. Second title is “Dick Tracy and the Mystery of the Purple Cross” #4071 ©1938. Front cover has art of Tracy in profile along with three villains and back cover has art of him punching gangster in front of bus. Covers have some wear, most noticeable along front left side seam and top of spine is missing 1" piece. Cover is Good. Contents lightly aged but overall VF. A scarce title. Nice graphics by Chester Gould throughout.
