Item Description
c. early 1950s. Made by Mutual Equipment & Supply Company Chicago, Ill. 6.75x18x1.5" deep die-cut thin cardboard box has nice lid graphics of Tracy watching at left and Gravel Gertie watching at right as Sparkle Plenty comes out of Sunny Dell Acres carrying sign w/her name on it and running towards Christmas tree. Lid has punch out top that, when removed, exposes bulbs. This 16" wide punch out strip is present and has four unpunched holes with images of Dick Tracy, Gravel Gertie, B.O. Plenty, and Sparkle Plenty likely to be cut out and put on tree. Cardboard insert holds full light set. A few bulbs are burned out but set is working. Box has scattered lt. wear with color rubs around edges and splits in corners. Bright and VG. Insert and punch-out strip are Fine/VF. Wonderful designs, true to character images.
