Item numbers 1554 through 3213 in auction 202
Item Description
1982. 14.25x21" archival mat attached to foam core has two openings. Left side opening is 9x9 1/8" with nice photo of Wyman holding his guitar and smoking a cigarette. Right side opening is 3.75x5.5" postmarked February 25th Fiji. Handwritten text in ink on “The Fijian” Hotel postcard is addressed to "Mr. D. Buckingham St. Andrews Lodge" in England. Full handwritten text reads “24-2-82 Dear Dave And Family, We’ve Been To LA, Maui (Hawaii), Plus Are Just Leaving Fiji For Australia. So Far, So Good-Well Tanned Plus Rested-Great Food Everywhere. From Now On I Have A Little Work Mixed In With Holiday-Will Keep In Touch-Love To You All, Bill + Astrida”. Ink has faded to a lt. tan but all writing is still fully readable. Fine. Wyman was Rolling Stones’ bassist from 1962 to 1992 and was romantically linked to Astrida from 1967 to 1983. Postcard refers to upcoming Stones tour. The Rolling Stones European Tour 1982 was a concert tour of Europe to promote the album “Tattoo You”. The tour started on May 26, 1982 and ended on July 25, 1982. This was the last tour the Stones would conduct for seven years. Unique Wyman artifact. Comes with Hake’s COA
