Item Description
An exceptionally large lapel stud 1.5" dia. with black metal back and name of maker "Penn Button Works/Phila." Ornate design printed in rwb and black plus silver accents on extremely unusual pink colored paper. Scrolls beneath eagle's raised wings read "No English Dictation" and below this are the dates "1776/1896." Below this are a pair of draped flags and a shield all featuring silver rather than white stars. The shield reads "The American Policy 16/1." Beneath the shield is the text "We Demand The Money Of The Constitution." Pink color is a little lighter on the right side than the rest of the piece and on the reverse there is a .5" long hairline cello split next to the black metal back but the celluloid lays perfectly flat and this is not at all apparent from the front. Front far left edge has barely visible tiny age dot, otherwise perfectly clean and with nice gloss. A rare piece and quite unusual from many aspects. Morry Greener Collection.
