Item Description
1.25" c. 1920 with W&H paper. Left and right side edges have tiny 1/16" or less neatly drilled hole as someone apparently mounted this is some way long ago. In addition, around each hole there is just a little .25" long narrow sliver of celluloid missing although barely detectable at all when viewed from the front. English on the outer rim reads "Ancient & Honorable Order Yellow Dogs Topeka Kennel No. 1." Latin on the inner rim reads "Nunquam Non Paratus-Fama Semper Vivat" (Never Unprepared - May His Fame Last Forever). The "Yellow Dog" reference applied to "Old Style" Southern Democrats said to be so loyal to the party they would vote for "an old yellow dog" before they would vote for a Republican. Great design and still displaying N. Mint. Only the second we've seen.
