Item Description
Bold 4" rwb button listed as Hake #2015 but this example has suspended from reverse metal back a 5.5" long ribbon. This one is dated for the 1953 event. See following same button but with ribbon dated for 1957 event. This button along the left side of his head around his ear has a .5" dia. circle where the celluloid has tiny ripple lines apparently caused by excess heat during the lamination process. These ripples show in reflected light but under most viewing circumstances are not at all obvious. The button remains totally bright and clean as is the ribbon. The back of the button has small sliver of paper that failed to fold under the metal back as well as about a half dozen tiny hairline splits ranging from 1/16" up to 5/8". These all lay quite flat and do not create bumps on the edge when viewed from the front. A very striking piece. Scarce.
