Item Description
This lot consists of every Henry card issued by J. Wicks & Sons Ltd. There were seven different sets issued between 1935-1937 in two different sizes. Two of these sets are comprised of 25 cards each in postcard size format 3-7/8x5.75". The other five sets are "large" size cards 2.5x3". There are 50 cards per set. Total card count among the seven sets is 300. All card fronts feature choice illustrations of Henry depicted in typical mischievous situations. Card backs feature tobacco-related text and ads. The two postcard-sized sets feature same art as two of the "large" card sets. Backs of both the postcard-sized sets and the first two "large " sets are designated w/Series 1 & 2, the other three "large" sets do not indicate series or individual card number, however, each is comprised of 50 different. Large size cards Series 1 & 2 have gummed reverses for mounting in card albums. All cards remain in choice condition, the postcard cards are all from packs of 20 cigarettes and therefore do not have center fold as those that came in packs of 10 cigarettes. Slightest scattered margin aging but all remain bright and clean examples, Exc. to N. Mint. An excellent opportunity to obtain all seven sets at once in high grade.
