Sign is unsigned, undated and without printers name but it is c.1896-1898. 12x19.5" paper attached to stiff paper board has wonderful image of the Yellow Kid wearing a top hat holding a cigarette in right hand and lemon tree in left hand with text on his nightshirt “Say I’ve Traded Me Face Ter De Gioe’s Lemons Folks An Say De Lemons Is A Gift P.S. So Is Me Face” with his bare left foot resting on lemon crate which has repeat image on end label. Sign is tanned with scattered moisture marks and is missing tiny pieces at three corner tips, a .75" piece at lower left and pair of small pieces, each approximately .25" near bottom. Top edge has two tiny holes as does lower center image of Kid’s nightshirt. Overall Fair/Good. Despite problems an incredibly rare poster and first we have seen in our 45 years. Noted Yellow Kid expert Richard Olson has seen an image of the poster and stated “I am 100% Certain that it is Outcault Art”. Superb graphics.
