Item Description
1.5" cello c. 1950s and 1-3/8" litho c. 1960s each reading "Sophie Tucker For President." The first is Exc., displaying Mint while the litho has some tiny scuffs on upper left. Tucker was immensely popular during the first 2/3rds of the 20th century as a singer and actress famous for her comical and risque songs. She was widely known as "The Last Of The Red Hot Mamas." This fall a performer obviously inspired by her was shown in an Atlantic City nightclub as part of the prohibition era themed TV series "Broadway Empire" starring Steve Buscemi. Also see following wristwatch for Al Capone, whose early years are also featured in the TV series.
