Item Description
10.25x13.5" Vol. 2 #2 February 1969 issue of Eye has 80 pages. Front cover has attached 5x6.75" mini comic book titled "The Amazing Spider-Man The Birth Of A Superhero!" glued in place at lower left. Story is by Stan Lee with art by John Romita ©1966 which originally appeared in "Amazing Spider-Man" #42. Mini-comic has specialty back cover art by Romita showing Spider-Man throwing a web with text "Keep Thy Webs Untangled! Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!" The regular comic book issue #42 has typical ad on back cover. Comic cover is a bit loose at top staple but firmly held on by bottom staple. Comic itself is firmly attached to the magazine cover. Overall still Fine. Rarely found still attached. Magazine itself includes article on the underground press with art by Robert Crumb, article titled "The New Superhero (Is A Pretty Kinky Guy)" with wonderful two page color spread of Marvel superheroes, photos of Steve McQueen riding his motorcycle in the desert with article on McQueen by Harlan Ellison. Covers have a few lt. handling creases and lt. wear but issue overall Fine/VF. Wonderful marketing concept.
