Item Description
1960s by Noble & Cooley. 12" dia., 4.5" tall with metal bands holding pair of clear drum heads with Buddy Rich name on top drum head. Most silver luster is worn off of metal bands. Painted drum heads have trace of surface wear but both heads are intact and complete. Displays VF. Scarce. Buddy Rich (1917-1987) was an American jazz drummer and band leader who played with noted entertainers including Joe Marsala, Bunny Berigan, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, Les Brown, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Gene Krupa, and Louis Armstrong. One of his most widely seen TV performances was in a 1970 episode of the Muppet Show where he and Muppet drummer Animal have a drum battle. A scarce item and nice for display.
