c. early 1950s when he expanded his band. Printed by Globe Poster Company Baltimore. 22x28.25", mounted to sheet of foam core. Text includes "The Greatest Little Band Becomes A Great Big Band Full Size For The First Time His Exciting New 14 Piece Band With 14 Music Makers Hand Picked By Jordan Himself." Left side has several photos of talented singer with comedic flare in various costumes and bottom has image of him with his new band. Song titles listed at left include "If You're So Smart Why Ain't You Rich?, Louisville Lodge Meeting, How Blue Can You Get?" Letter "D" in Jordan's last name has had small puncture professionally retouched and repaired, top margin edge has two small tears in blank area professionally repaired. Main image area is bright and VF. Jordan (1908-1975) was a jazz musician who achieved great popularity between the late 1930s and the early 1950s, becoming known as "The King Of The Jukebox." His 1940 hit "Saturday Night Fish Fry" is considered an early version of rock and roll. One of his biggest hits was "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby?" Great for display and historical.
