Item Description
14x17" black wood frame with elaborate mat contains set of ten different enameled metal pins 1.5” to 2.5” tall. Silver mat text reads "Star Wars Weekends Walt Disney World 2008." Star Wars Weekends is a festival generally held annually at the Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park at Walt Disney World Resort. Included with park admission, the event typically occurs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for four consecutive weekends in May and June and features appearances by actors and crew members from the George Lucas science-fiction saga. Many Disney characters also appear dressed as Star Wars characters, such as Jedi Mickey, Minnie as Leia, Donald as a Stormtrooper and Goofy as Darth Vader. The festival began in 1997 and has been held in 2000, 2001, and annually since 2003. Nine of the pins feature a duo of Star Wars characters and these pairings include: Obi-Wan/Cody, Yoda/Gree, Anakin/Appo, Vader/Tie-Fighter Pilot, Luke/Han as Stormtroopers, Leia/Stormtrooper, Jango/Dooku,
Kit Fitso/Clone Commander, Han/Boba Fett. The Han/Fett pin is the "completer" pin and available only with this framed set, not sold individually. Tenth pin is Donald as Stormtrooper. Very limited edition of just 100 and issued at $275. It was an instant sell-out. Artist was Garret Webb. Comes with certificate and original box and shipping carton. Mint and ready for display. A much sought-after item in the pin collecting community and a must-have for Star Wars enthusiasts. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tumbusch and Ted Hake.
