Auction #202 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1553 in auction 202
Item Description
7/8" featuring a rope rim design in brass surrounding full color depiction of rider in a blue uniform mounted on a bicycle with the frame in gold. The brass frame has a brass covering on the reverse with a small arm which extends to hold the circular stud and the stud itself can be turned 90 degrees to an upright position for easy insertion through a coat lapel and then pressed back into place so it holds in position. Celluloid covering has tiny marks in reflected light but showing very little otherwise and piece displays Exc. with just a little luster loss off the rim. Likely 1896 if not a few years earlier. Very unusual manufacturing style. Only example we've seen.
