Auction #202 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1553 in auction 202
Item Description
1.25" with very spotted W&H backpaper plus oxidation on the rim and some stain around the button's front edges. We don't know who is shown on this rare button and its star and strip motive reminds us of the Civil War Confederates but this was a branch in Minnesota, one of five operated as part of the Great Northern Line which competed for grain traffic coming from Canada. While the button is obviously aged it still displays nicely and is certainly rare. Only example we've seen.
