Item Description
This is one of the nicest and rarest Disneyland toys ever produced. 14.5x18.5x1.75" deep box contains complete and unused set produced by Schuco in 1962. This is set #6633 G and features a three-car monorail in red. A blue variety was also produced as well as a larger set #6333 S that featured a four-car monorail and additional accessories. The box lid has two corner splits, outside surface of each corner has clear tape reinforcement strip. Lt. aging and edge wear but remains bright and clean w/vivid color. Fine. Box has styrofoam insert that holds the pieces in place and this includes Disneyland labels and embossed Schuco name. The tin litho and hard plastic monorail is 14" long and comes w/12 track sections, suspension posts, other small parts/pieces which remain sealed in cellophane packs as issued. The monorail is authentically detailed and includes decals reading "Disneyland-Alweg Monorail System/Santa Fe & Disneyland Ry." Set comes w/5.75x8" 24-page glossy paper booklet. Front cover has same art that appears on the box lid. Contents are mostly bw w/detailed list and photos of the two different boxed sets along w/individually available accessory pieces, several pages of track layouts. This booklet comes w/separate price list. Set operates by means of an American 12-volt transformer although this was considered an accessory and sold separately. We have not tested the set ourselves. The bottom tin litho panels of the monorail have some traces of aging w/some tiny spots where paint is a bit rough to the touch but the aging itself is only noticeable if viewed closely. Set remains unused and still Exc. to N. Mint. This set was produced for a very short time and did not sell well due to the fact that it was quite expensive. This is only the second set we've ever offered.
