Auction #202 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1553 in auction 202
Item Description
1.75" with seldom seen backpaper from Worcester, Mass firm Fuller Regalia & Costume Co. which has light penciling over the text plus some small wrinkles and tiny fragment off the edge. Button itself is N. Mint, displaying Mint. Inset photo of him at upper right with most of button devoted to the building titled as "General Custer's Birthplace New Rumley, Ohio." We saw a very similar button which included the date of 1914 for the centennial of his birth. While this version does not carry any date it would most likely be within a year or two either way of the 1914 button. One of only about four buttons we know of to picture him. Also see Custer #1712.
