Auction #202 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1553 in auction 202
Item Description
1.75" without backpaper or maker's name. This button is among the few for early English royalty that exceed 1.25" and one of the most beautiful. It is pictured in the color plate section of Collectible Pin-Back Buttons. The king is shown wearing his crown and his wife Alexandra is next to him. Text reads "Coronation/June 26/1902./Presented By The/Corporation Of Liverpool/Charles Petrie,/Lord Mayor." Surface has fairly numerous hairline scratches but none are deep and they just show in reflected light. Button is Extremely Fine and still displays Mint. Rare. Morry Greener Collection.
