Item Description
4.5" long box contains pocket watch with 2" dia. chromed metal case. Produced in 1933 for distribution in the United Kingdom. The celluloid dial and revolving second wheel feature an early non-traditional image of Mickey which was quickly revised to the traditional face and thinner body w/issue of the second English Ingersoll (much like the wrist watches, see items #2470-2471). This first version comes in box with repeat images of Mickey, Minnie, Horace and Clarabelle on the outside and additional image of Mickey on inside. Same design as the US box but with added text of "Reproduced With The Consent Of Walter E. Disney/This Box Printed And Made In England." Complete with insert. Outside has moderated edge wear/dust soiling with one lid corner split repaired. Interior remains clean. Box VG/Fine and rare. Pocket watch case retains near full bright luster and is VF. Dial surface has some aging/scattered small brown age dots. All color remains strong. Dial Fine. Running. Rare due to the single year small production run. From the Jerry Howell Jr. Collection.
