Item Description
There were a total of six different Henry sets issued between 1935 and 1937 by J. Wix & Sons, Ltd. London. Two of these sets were done in post card size of 4x5.75” and this lot contains cards from both of those sets. The first series has 22 of 25 (missing numbers 16,23,24) while the second series is a complete set of 25. Fronts feature choice illustrations of Henry depicted in typical mischievous situations. Card backs have tobacco-related text and ads. Cards have very lt. and scattered trace of aging, mostly to margins/reverses but all remain bright and clean. Lt. margin/corner tip wear but cards are free of creases and for the most part have fairly sharp corners. Exc./N. Mint. The third item in this lot is a complete album. Album is 7x9" and contains set of 50 cards, these are smaller 2.75x3" size. All neatly mounted. Choice art as with the other sets, with additional "Henry And His Boys" band art on front cover. About a dozen cards have trace of surface paper wear to bottom margins but not distracting. Cards remain clean as mounted and display Exc/N.Mint. Album has scattered wear/aging with corner creases/rounding and .25" edge nick on front bottom. Album Fine.
