Item Description
The Sub-Mariner sure hated Nazis. Early Sub-Mariner storylines were concerned with his hatred of mankind, but he quickly switched that hatred to the Axis powers. This action-packed cover really gives the reader a sense of Namor’s incredible physical prowess. This title appeared a year after the Sub-Mariner’s first appearance in the first Marvel Comic, Marvel Comics #1. The cover for this issue also gives the Angel prominent space. A strong back-up character during the early days of Marvel Comics, he found a home in the first 21 issues of the Sub-Mariner’s solo title. Created by Paul Gustavson, he was one of the few comic heroes with a real mustache. While he never achieved a prime position in the Marvel Universe, he lasted a long time as a back-up feature in various titles. The pages are cream to off-white. The book is CGC-certified 4.0 (VG)
