Item Description
This plastic pin is 1.5" tall by 2" wide by 3/16" thick. It is designed as an accordion and center has real photo with his name above. Photo paper has numerous tiny craze lines in the emulsion but the image remains clear. On the left the white individual slotted 'Keys' have two missing. Still a very interesting piece issued for a group which came to York, PA from Kansas City, KS. The original members were this man along with George Long, Andy Reynolds, and Cliff Brown. They took their name from the Wild West Show (see item #1713) and because Brown's mother was a full-blooded Ponca Indian who worked on the ranch. The group recorded for Columbia Records and traveled throughout the U.S.A. working shows with many country music bands and western personalities such as Rex Allen, Ken Maynard, The Cisco Kid, Gene Autry and others. This piece has a bar pin on the reverse and is c. 1940's. Only example we've seen.
