This is the item used for the photo in the Hake Pop Culture guide for JAC-32. This piece is from 1939 designed by Orin Armstrong (see next proof item and Sky King prototype items #1743-1744) for the Robbins Co. and for potential General Mills Wheaties premium use but never produced. The lead plate is 1.75x3" slightly raised at the center. Standing out in relief metal is the ring design with prongs to each side for a length of 2.75". The left upper band shows images of football, basketball, baseball bat, and catcher's mitt. The right upper band shows athlete's foot accented by wings. The ring top shows Jack Armstrong portrait from the chest up with "Jack Armstrong" above and below "All-American Boy." Had this ring been made, it would have been the only ring to picture the character. Underside of the lead has lightly and neatly scratched company identification number of "N1331." Mint as made.
