Item numbers 1554 through 3213 in auction 202
Item Description
3.75x7" first printing for Oct. 31, 1967 concert at Winterland that featured Quicksilver, The Grateful Dead and Big Brother & The Holding Co. Features a collaboration between rock concert poster gods Stanley Mouse, Rick Griffin and Alton Kelley. Main image is photo of Lon Chaney as The Phantom of the Opera with numerous smaller repeated maroon images of Chaney’s face in an acid blotter design on an orange bkg. Handbill was once tacked up and has two tiny spots of paper loss at top/bottom center margins. At lower left margin is a 1" red paint streak and just to the right of the main portrait image is a .25" hairline scratch. Bottom margin has small moisture stain really only noticeable on the blank reverse. Still retains a clean appearance for display and a very striking design. VG. Scarce.
