Item Description
23.5" long. From the Marx factory with original "Sample" tag with metal grommet attached by string. Card front has printed lines for information about item, nothing filled out. Back of tag states: "Tag 96, Box 6, X4286 Superman Gun, 4.15.53 Erie". Lt. handling wear on tag, however displays Fine. Never produced "Tommy Gun" style plastic gun is painted blue with 3" long red plastic tip. 4.5" long foregrip is brown plastic and slides forward and back moving a gear mechanism that can be seen through a rectangular hole on top of front barrel. May have been designed as a sparking device. Trigger "fires" when pulled. Stock features logo on both sides "Superman Krypton Rocket Gun" hand painted in yellow with lightning bolts on either side of "Rocket Gun" text. Original piece of scotch tape on one side of stock that has impression of a code number written on it. Overall lt. handling wear and minor scratches on blue paint of gun. VG. Unique, only one known. A must have item for the Superman completist.
