1.5x9.75x19.25 box contains complete parts for Milton Bradley game #4842 © 1940 Superman Inc. This is the first and rarest of the early Superman board games, which was also offered as a premium in the Superman Bubble Gum Club prize folder. Lid features great illustration of Superman stopping an oncoming airplane, side panels feature additional solo Superman images as well as inset action scenes. Lid splits along lower edge have clear tape repairs on interior and exterior and a .5" loss of litho. Lid edges have surface paper wear and flakes, moderate scattered dust soiling, box retains strong color and VG overall. Box includes matched pair of inserts w/classic full figure Superman image. These are lightly aged but Exc. Board is 18.5x18.5" w/similar but different and more detailed images to the Speed Game board. At center is small image of Clark Kent walking into Perry White's office. This is surrounded by repeated images of Clark Kent taking notes as well as action scenes of Superman. Has additional Clark Kent images at corner starting areas. Surface paper is bright and clean, board has lt. aging but remains glossy. Exc. Comes w/separate small instruction folder, aged but Fine. Other parts are different sized and colored wood playing pieces representing "Clark Kent The Reporter/Superman Cloaks." Playing pieces are Exc. Great, scarce game.
