Item Description
3-5/8" wide, c. 1890s. Choice graphics include well-dressed woman standing next to horse with dog nearby on lid top while reverse side has cartoon-like image of street urchin talking to man. Boy says "Are You Chewing Tobacco Sir?" and man answers "I Said Never! I Take That Back. Meant Hardly Ever At The Best. But I Sometimes Do Take A Chew Of Spaulding & Merricks Charm Of The West." A few shallow dents here and there. Surface color is a bit worn around edges of both sides and underside image has five tiny dents with missing paint in and around urchin image. Fine. Beautiful graphics.
