Item Description
Both items are c. 1930s and made of plated heavy white metal. "Kewanee Boiler Co." is 2x5x3" tall with firm name on base edges and "Kewanee" on the end panel depiction of the boiler door. Just above this is a coin slot. Underside has four rusted screw heads and open rectangular area that probably once held the coin trap. Gold paint on boiler and black paint on base is heavily worn but most remains VG. Ashtray reads "Heggie-Simplex Steel Boilers" across front rim of ashtray base. 5x5x.75" deep with figural boiler 1.75x4x3.5" tall mounted behind. Company name and "Joliet Ill." printed on the side boiler door. Front shows cut away view of interior with heat rising from burning coal and entering a series of tubes. There are about two dozen marks about 1/8" each apparently of black ink scattered over the front, mostly on the tubes. Other surfaces with copper luster are quite clean. Still displays Fine. Edge wear on green felt under base. Nice pair.
